Abstract

Achieving a balance between work and family life is a pressing concern for employed individuals in today’s corporate landscape. Healthcare professionals in private hospitals face unique challenges in maintaining this balance compared to their counterparts in government hospitals. With the growing private healthcare sector, research on work life balance among health care professionals has gained significant attention. This study aims to analyse the work life balance of health care professionals in government and private hospitals in Tirunelveli district and identify the factors that enhance their work life balance. Based on primary and secondary data collected from 229 government and 238 private hospital health care professionals, the study reveals key findings. Notably, the mean rank of satisfaction with work life balance, respect in personal and professional life and support from hospital management is significant factors influencing work life balance among healthcare professionals.
