Abstract

In this paper, an effort has been made to relate the concept of Corporate governance with respect to Indian ethics and values. An analytical study has been made on the performance of Indian companies with respect to various parameters of corporate governance indicators with special emphasis on understanding the difficulties faced in implementation of corporate governance in India. A balanced score approach has been used to frame the role and performance appraisal of various stakeholders in corporate governance such as enterprise and entrepreneur, board of directors, managers and executives and the creditors. A detailed study has been made on assessing the factors which might lead to corporate governance failure. Finally we studied the values and leadership quality which had lead to successful corporate governance regime in Infosys.
