Abstract

This study explores the digitalization process of small and medium-sized hotels (SMEs) by integrating the Decision-Making Trial and Evaluation Laboratory (DEMATEL) method with stakeholder theory and the Technology-Organization-Environment (TOE) framework. The DEMATEL method effectively maps the complex cause-effect relationships among various stakeholders, highlighting the significance of considering stakeholder interactions in digitalization efforts. Combining this method with stakeholder theory, which emphasizes managing relationships with all parties involved, and the TOE framework, which categorizes influential factors into technological, organizational, and environmental contexts, provides a comprehensive understanding of digitalization. The study identifies critical factors influencing digital adoption and their interdependencies, essential for developing effective strategies that align digital initiatives with broader business objectives. The findings emphasize the need for government support, particularly in enhancing digital infrastructure, providing financial assistance, and offering training programs to ensure the seamless integration of SMEs into the digital era.
