Study of the Facilities Available for the Students in the Library of Lead College Khandwa

Abstract

In Madhya Pradesh, one college at each district headquarters has been given the status of a leading college. It is the biggest and most resourceful college in the district. There are total 52 leading colleges in Madhya Pradesh. Similarly, the leading college of Khandwa district is Shri Nilkantheshwar Government Post Graduate College. 5283 students are studying in present session of 2022-23. It is included in the old and good colleges of the state. In this research paper, the study of the infrastructure of the library and the facilities available for the students is being presented. The purpose of this research paper is to find out the status of the facilities available for the students in the libraries in the lead colleges of Madhya Pradesh and how much the students are taking advantage of them. If the excellence of the facilities is known from the study, it could be adopted as a model. On the contrary, suggestions can be given for the upgradation of the library so that better facilities can be made available to the students in future. Research methods such as field visits, observation of documents, interviews and questionnaires have been used to obtain data and information for this research paper. It was found in the study, that the condition of the library is very good. Sufficient number of books are available. The infrastructure is sufficient. Modern technology is being used, but there is a need to improve the number of students taking advantage of these facilities. This is the original work of the researcher and useful from the point of view of library upgradation.
