Abstract
This study examines the role of employees’ affective commitment as a mediator between their perceived
organizational support and its associations with their levels of job involvement and their intentions to quit. Based on an appropriate literature review, the study hypotheses were formulated and linked
to a conceptual latent variable model. The model is tested using data collected from 786 managerial
executives working in India. The data were then subjected to various statistical techniques, including structural equation modeling. As per the results of the data analyses, all study hypotheses
were found to be acceptable, as was the latent variable model.
