Abstract
The study primarily focuses on the moderating role of perceived leader support in enhancing the impact of authentic leadership on creativity directly and via intrinsic motivation by drawing on the interactionist theory. Additionally, it investigates perceived leader support as boundary conditions of this relationship. A quantitative survey method collected
multi-source data from 300 employees and their supervisors (using a multi-item survey instrument) across IT service provider firms in Bengaluru, India. SEM, factor analysis, and path analysis with SPSS AMOS version 22 were used. It is ascertained that perceived leader support moderated both the direct and indirect (via intrinsic motivation) relationship between authentic leadership and creativity. Further, perceived leader support was identified as a boundary condition
of this relationship.
