Abstract

This study examines employees’ organizational trust and their procedural justice perceptions as key antecedents of their levels of affective commitment and organizational cynicism when mediated by their relational contract with their organization. Through relevant literature review, the study hypotheses are postulated and linked by a conceptual latent variable model (LVM) which is tested using data collected from 451 managerial executives working in India and Indians by origin. They were then subjected to various statistical techniques per structural equation modeling procedures. All the study hypotheses were found acceptable as was one of the LVMs labeled, LVM5. Subsequently, the theoretical and practical implications of the findings were discussed.
