Abstract
Happiness at work is being
sought by business owners,
policymakers, and employees at
large as happy employees are generally
more productive ones. The
present study has examined the
relationship of Leader-Member
Exchange (LMX) with happiness.
Also hypothesized that Perceived
Organizational Support (POS)
and resilience would positively
contribute to happiness and would
mediate the relationship between
LMX and happiness. The participants
in the study were 217 working
professionals with diverse
backgrounds. Data were analyzed
through Smart PLS4 software.
Analyses revealed that LMX,
POS, and resilience were positively
related to happiness. Mediation
hypotheses were also supported.
POS and resilience partially
mediated the Happiness-
LMX relationship. The results were
interpreted within the social exchange
theory framework.
