Abstract
This paper examines the legal
provisions of collective bargaining
in India, Canada, China and
Finland. The legal provisions and
protocol related to collective bargaining
in India are discussed
with certain rulings of the court.
The dearth of central level legislation
on the subject has been
highlighted along with the criteria
of recognizing a trade union.
An analysis of characteristics of
Canadian, Chinese and Finnish
collective bargaining is presented
in comparison to India. The conclusion
emphasizes on strengthening
of collective bargaining
mechanism in India in the light of
collective bargaining systems of
these nations.
