Abstract

Teaching is very attractive to the young ladies. After graduation, they face tremendous pressure in their life due to several factors such as marriage, employment, caring babies and fulfilling family responsibilities. All these give rise to the work-life balance problems. The factor analysis suggests that their personal lives suffer due to job and family-related pressures. Relationship with spouse also suffers due to prolonged working hours. Yet the need for economic independence which brings respect and status in the spouses family and society at large, motivates her to remain employed. They get co-operation and support from their colleagues, but not as such from the head of the institution.
