Abstract
Libraries and information centres in Academic Institutions play a vital role in providing information and related services to
researchers, scholars, students, teachers and non-teaching staff of the parent institution. In this paper, a modest attempt has
been made to find out the marketing mix in the college library and information centres and to evaluate the present condition and
standard of library and information centres. In addition, the paper also tries to find out the common problem faced by the college
library and information centre users to access the information Jorhat district of Assam. The paper which is exploratory in nature
is based on both primary and secondary data. In conclusion, it is suggested that the librarian and library management committee
should use marketing tools and techniques to make effective plan by which a library can fulfil the user’s needs and demands.
