Abstract

Career advancement defined in terms of promotion within managerial ranks, the level of management ultimately reached and the level of pay received. Over the past several decades, women have become a larger percentage of the workforce. There has been an improvement in the numbers of women in hospitality industry. Although women participation in workforce has increased but, a very few number of managerial positions are being filled by women. The purpose of this paper is to address the research gap on women working lives and to examine literature review in relation to womens career progression.
