Abstract
This paper deals with the problem of estimating the position of a User Equipment (UE) operating in a wireless communication network. The ambiguity in Position Location (PL) arises due to the presence of noise and distortion when bearing from two or more sensors do not intersect at the point of intersection showing the location of the target. An algorithm is developed for fixing location taking into account the effect of noise. First the estimation of parameters typically signal strength, time delays or Angle Of Arrival (AOA) is done. Then by combination and computation of these radio measurements, the parameters are fed to the localization methods. There are many localization methods. Maximum likelihood method (MLM), linear least square estimation (LLSE) and the parameter Angle of Arrival (AOA) are used to find the user emitter and fix a location. This is implemented in MATLAB and the results are presented on location of emitter in noisy environment taking into account the propagation delays.
