Abstract
The main purpose of this study is to assess the impact of FDI inflows on five macroeconomic
indicators such as Growth Domestic Product (GDP), Exports (EXPORT), Employment (EMP),
Comsumer price index (CPI) and the real Exchange rate (EXR) in Vietnam since 1991 (the first
year the FDI is implemented) to 2016. The trend analysis show that there is a strong and positive
impact of FDI on GDP, EXPORT. FDI also has an impact but not great on EMP, CPI and
EXR of Vietnam from 1991 to 2016. From that result, the study has proposed some solutions to
attract FDI effectively in time next.
