Abstract

The paper illustrates the current state of Internet banking in India and discusses its implications for the Indian banking industry. The present study examined the impact of Internet banking on the performance of banks. The present study employed panel data regression on the information drawn from the sample of 31 banks websites from 1997-2016. Using data on the financial performance, the current study analyzed the impact of Internet banking on banks performance. The results revealed that Internet banks helps in accelerating the financial performance of banks as proxied by ROA and ROE.
