Abstract
User authentication (Zhao, 2007) is an important aspect in information security to protect privacy of the users. In order to do so, users have been using a traditional way of entering the password through keyboard. The main disadvantage of these traditional passwords (Vamvakas et al., 2008) is related to
memorability of the users, where users are not able to remember those passwords. To reduce the memory burden on users, graphical passwords are introduced which uses graphics and images. This paper proposes a new Re-call Based Graphical password scheme which remotely authenticates the users using Optical Character Recognition (OCR) (Rodriguez-Serrano & Perronnin, 2012, Wikipedia, Bandyopadhyay, 2008). This paper also aims to avoid the Shoulder Surfing attack which is a major security threat to Graphical Password schemes.
