Abstract

Empowered and enabled positive safety culture methodology is possibly the best option to deliver a zero-harm objective. This paper dwells on a theme of exploring concerns and solutions over corporates’ readiness to re-build a positive safety culture. Important recommendations are made to help organisations overcome the challenges for corporates’ readiness to re-build positive safety culture, based on the field visits to almost 45 site locations and interactions with 330 managers. Biggest concern is dumping safety culture transformation down the levels by leaders, then asking for a monthly report, not being available for resources support or culture reinforcement. Make behavioural safety positive culture a boardroom agenda, a zero-blame SOP in our organisation as a long-term perspective towards our mission of “one nation one goal - zero harm”. Fix safety culture accountability of each department (IT, CSR, HR, CC and operations). Let everyone be on-board for safety culture intervention, make it organisation-wide and purpose-driven at a scale and all leaders take it as personal responsibility for safety of all employees, associates and stakeholders.
