Abstract
This study is conducted to explore the attitudes of faculty members and students of library and information science towards open access resources available with central universities in Uttar Pradesh. It reveals that majority of faculty members and students are aware about open access resources. Interestingly, majority of the respondents use open access resources daily from library through the browse of various search engines for accessing open access resources. It is also reveals that open access resources are highly used for study and research purpose. It is observed from the data that less than one-fourth of respondents submitted papers/articles in an open access resource which are very less and that require further appreciation for the promotion of open access. Majority of the students and faculty members are satisfied with open access resources. The paper recommends that the promotional activities are required to propagate the uses of open access resources and faculty members and researchers should be encouraged for contribution in open access resources.
