Use of Library Web Portal of KIIT University: A Study of Students Opinions

Abstract

This paper explains the concept of the Library Web Portal and indicates how, if properly understood, the portal could be of great benefit to students, teachers and researchers. This paper is a survey of sample students respondents of KIIT University. The paper explains, in particular, how library Web portal has been instrumental in disseminating information among the students community. The study finds that majority of the students of KIIT University use Library portal for the fulfillment of their academic and research needs. It is further evident that the rate of usage among male students is comparatively more than their female counterparts. The paper also discusses the respondents views on Use of other libraries/institutions portal, Use of other libraries/institutions portal, Frequency of using library portal, Relevancy of the contents of web portal, primary purpose of using portal and such other facets.
