Abstract

This paper puts light on the scenario of political communication in wake of new media. Various shades of political communication has been painted in the backdrop and context of democracy. The study of political campaigns in the multilingual and multicultural country like India paints a diverse spectrum which is traversed by the robust mediatised messages. It explains about various forms of political communication and mediatising of messages. It explores various persuations, presentations and propaganda tactics during elections, which are applied through media to the targeted audiences. The media- centric campaigns in fact are the games to gain power and are played using money and power.
