Abstract
The Research Paper deals with quantitative interrelationship
of development of banking industry and
economic growth. Growth of Gross Domestic Product
(GDP) is taken as indicator of economic growth and growth
of deposits of Scheduled Commercial Banks (SCBs) have
been taken as representative of development of banking
industry. The conclusions of the Research Paper yield
interesting results for the policy makers/top management.
