Abstract
DEA is a multi factor productivity model for
measuring the relative efficiencies of a homogenous
set of decision making units (DMU’s). This paper
deals with the application of DEA model to determine
the benchmarked DMU among the list of certain
DMU’s with certain inputs and outputs parameters.
Two different areas were identified for the
application of DEA for benchmarking.
Pharmaceutical Industries and Indian State wise
performance were analysed. The model is explained
with the Linear programming mathematical model
and its impact in the sensitivity analysis. Results
indicate the efficiency of all DMU’s and scope of
improvement for different DMU’s.
