Abstract
Every organization has a unique culture which comprises certain assumptions, beliefs, values and
norms commonly shared by its members or employees. Organizations strive to deliver their culture in
its best sense. No-doubt, induction programmes, training and development programmes, rules, polices,
working system, procedure, orders, instructions and manuals are some common and formal practices
which support the culture delivery system. On the other hand gossips, rumors and lunch hour talks are
some informal exercises which deliver the same culture trough old employees to new employees. In
both the practices whether it is formal or informal, old employees of an organization play an important
role because they work like an interface or medium between organizational culture and new entrants. It
means old employees function like an organizational culture carriers. They transfer or deliver the
culture related information as they perceive. During this total culture delivery process, individual
opinion, thoughts, beliefs and experiences can redefine the organizational culture. It means during this
culture delivery process, old employees by default may add or delete some information to core culture.
In his paper author wants to say that old employees work like a filter by which organizational culture
has to be filtered to new employees. Author in his work strives to describe the utility and role of old
employees in organizational culture delivery. Old employees can filter the useless information,
confusions and obsolete traditions during organizational culture delivery process. Top management
may use the old employees in refreshing the organizational culture. In the present paper author finds
the old employees as a culture filters who encompasses the positive and motivating components of
organizational culture for motivating , training , retaining and discipline the new recruits in
organization. Misunderstanding, communication gap and rumors may be shot down or filtered out form
core culture.
