In this paper an attempt has been made to focus on exports and import facilities, tariff rates, problems, present EXIM policy, major exports and imports. The above variables are tested by applying chi-square test in relation to year of establishment, operational area and type of firms. The results showed that 90 per cent of the respondents need additional warehousing and storage facilities at VPT. A little more than fifty per cent of the respondents need improvement in export and import facilities. All the respondents are facing different types of problems at VPT. To overcome their problems port authorities should take necessary steps.
