Abstract
Food, culinary practices, and gastronomy constitute an essential part of contemporary hospitality and tourism research, reflecting evolving consumer preferences, cultural expressions, and innovative approaches to food production and service. In recent years, street food studies have gained considerable scholarly attention, especially for their role in shaping urban foodscapes, promoting local culinary identity, and supporting entrepreneurial ventures. A particular way of preparing and selling street food is through “Food Trucks,” which have emerged as a modern, mobile extension of traditional food vending practices. These food trucks have recently become a highly popular and significant component of the hospitality industry. Due to its significance and potential impact on the cuisine, eating habits and socioeconomic development, this field has been an area of interest of researchers from all over the World. This study conducts a bibliometric assessment of 88 research papers on food trucks indexed in the Scopus database up to November 2025. It presents a detailed analysis through various performance indicators and visualisations, including leading authors, prominent affiliations, contributing countries, influential institutions, and the most productive journals in the field. The findings generated from this analysis will assist emerging scholars, industry practitioners, policymakers, and public authorities in identifying key research patterns and high-impact publications within the growing domain of food truck studies.
