Abstract
COVID-19 pandemic is altering the
work scenario across industries and
the future work scenario will demand
a high virtual component. The
traditional activities undertaken as
part of onboarding might be inappropriate
in the post-pandemic scenario.
The objective of this paper
is to develop an onboarding approach
that is conducive to the future
virtual work scenario. Qualitative
analysis of the information
gathered from public sources is done
based on which a new onboarding
framework is proposed. The proposal
is rooted in data and theoretically
coherent. This paper is a
novel attempt to provide initial direction
for future researchers and
practitioners in the field of human
resource practices.
