Abstract
The software industry has been
the fastest growing sector of the
Indian economy. The present
study aims at assessing if the Information
Technology (IT) and
Information Technology Enabled
Services (ITES) engineers have
the adequate skills to communicate
best in cross-cultural environments
as also reduce barriers
while communicating and collaborating
across functions, divisions
and across companies.
The results indicate that the professionals
were substantially
skilled in their listening,
adjustability and flexibility components.
Also, from the data
analysis it could be inferred that
demographic variables in this
particular context have not been
strong enough to differentiate the
communication competencies between
groups.
