Abstract
Collective bargaining is a key
means for improving wages and
conditions of work and for regulating
employment relations. Integration
into global markets has intensified
competition. In response,
enterprises sought to be more flexible
by introducing new forms of
work organization and changing
their employment practices. These
changes present important challenges
for collective bargaining.
Collective bargaining practices
and structures needed to adapt to
remain responsive. This paper examines
some broad trends and issues
in specific regions.
