Abstract
Libraries are increasingly required to adopt data-driven approaches to improve service delivery, resource management, and
accountability. This study examines the application of Tableau in building interactive dashboards for effective data presentation in academic
and research libraries. The objectives were to analyse how Tableau enhances data accessibility, supports evidence-based decision-making,
and strengthens transparency in library operations. Seven types of dashboards were conceptualised, covering areas such as library usage,
collection development, e-resource analysis, research output, user feedback, budget allocation, and information literacy programmes. The
findings reveal that Tableau dashboards provide actionable insights through key performance indicators, visual analytics, and interactive filters.
These dashboards allow librarians to identify user trends, evaluate resource utilisation, monitor institutional research output, assess financial
planning, and demonstrate the impact of training initiatives. The study concludes that leveraging Tableau modernises library management
practices and fosters strategic planning, accountability, and user satisfaction. It recommends the broader adoption of interactive dashboards
to ensure libraries remain innovative, adaptable, and responsive to evolving academic and research demands.
