Abstract
In the contemporary era, human life has become increasingly mechanical, with individuals functioning almost like machines from
morning until night. The student community – across schools, colleges, and universities – is no exception. Students today are overburdened with
academics, examinations, assignments, sports, tuition, and numerous other commitments, which often result in mental stress and health-related
challenges. The relentless pursuit of academic success leaves little room for personal relaxation or mental rejuvenation. Prolonged hours of
sedentary study further contribute to stiffness and rigidity in the body, diminishing physical flexibility and, in turn, affecting mental well-being
and academic performance. Against this backdrop, yoga emerges as an essential practice for students, offering a pathway to physical vitality,
mental clarity, and overall well-being. It nurtures harmony between body and mind, strengthens internal systems, encourages self-healing,
eliminates negative energies and toxins, enhances focus and concentration, builds self-awareness, and cultivates resilience. In this context,
academic institutions and particularly academic libraries hold a significant responsibility in promoting awareness of yoga and encouraging its
practice among students, thereby fostering their holistic growth and development.
