Abstract
This paper discusses the problems and challenges that e-commerce presents in Manipur and how it can help the market grow and sell local Manipuri goods. The study used primary data from 539 respondents. It looks at how people think about structural problems, economic effects, and market growth. We use different statistical methods to look at the data, such as reliability tests, one-sample t-tests, ANOVA, and regression analysis. The results show that e-commerce in Manipur has big problems with its structure, like high shipping costs, not enough people knowing about it, bad logistics infrastructure, and local sellers being at a disadvantage. Despite these challenges, respondents are very hopeful about its future. The regression results show that perceived problems negatively affect e-commerce’s influence, and perceived influence is a major reason local products are growing in the market. The paper identifies social media commerce, young people’s involvement, integration of digital payments, and collaboration among platforms as the key factors for enhancing the regional digital ecosystem. Manipur’s e-commerce sector is changing. This finding shows that with better infrastructure, logistics, branding, and digital skills, it can become an important driver of economic growth and cultural progress in the region.
