Abstract
The paper provides a comprehensive analysis of the development and proliferation of Microfinance Institutions (MFIs) in the Indian state of Kerala, offering detailed insights into the factors driving their growth and the implications for financial inclusion and socio-economic development. Through a combination of historical examination, and theoretical frameworks, this study elucidates the evolution of MFIs in Kerala and examines their role in addressing the financial needs of underserved communities.
