Abstract

It is important to have sophisticated and advanced technology to attain an exponential growth in travel industry so as to manage the quality and increasing volume of traffic in tourism. Previous studies have shown that travelers today demand high quality of travel services, information, products and complete value for their hard earned money. The evolution of innovative tourism services and products along with an exponential increase in tourism demand, has helped businesses adopt IT at a wide-scale and internet as an electronic intermediary. In simple words, the Internet medium acts as a new communication and distribution medium for travelers and providers of travel services and products. Advent of the technology of interent has enabled tourism and travel businesses to further improve their efficiency, competitiveness, productivity and performance. Now we know tourism as an industry is almost worth 1000 billion USD. This study of mine focuses on evaluation of Internet marketing techniques used by Travel companies, Tour operators, Ministry of tourism of various countries and states, Leisure/Entertainment business owners who depend on tourism, Hotels, Resorts/Home stays and other businesses whose bread and butter depends tourism.
