Abstract
Organizational politics has
unanimously been accepted as
omnipresent, but its variability
according to the Indian context
has not been much discussed.
This study explores the employees’
perceptions of politics and
the coping mechanisms they
adopt to handle it. The idea of
this comparative study is to understand
and explore how the
employee’s perception of organization
politics and the coping
mechanisms vary with changing
sectors. Data was collected from
a public sector company, a private
sector company, and
startups. The analysis of the data
was done using a qualitative
approach. The findings indicated
that the employees’ perception
of politics, their emotional
status, and the coping mechanisms
were different in different
sectors.
